A Special thanks to our 2009 Mid Year Meeting Sponsors

The National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies (NASCLA) hosted the 2007 Mid Year Meeting on September 25 - 28, 2007 in Little Rock, Arkansas at the Peabody Hotel.
The Conference began the morning of Tuesday, September 25 for NASCLA's Committee Members who had meetings throughout the day. The program officially kicked off on Tuesday night with an "Arkansas Themed" opening reception, held in the beautiful Riverview Room of the Peabody Hotel. The fun filled mixer gave new attendee's and returning participants an opportunity to catch up and get to know one another, while learning about the History of Arkansas.
The general conference began on Wednesday, September 26 and included presentations by Kieran Marion, Karen Smith, Charles Marceaux, Alan Felber, David Fogt, Jennifer Grimes and Tom Hannah. On Wednesday evening the group was treated to a cruise down the Arkansas River aboard the Arkansas Queen Paddle Boat. Dinner was served while a live band played as they cruised by the Little Rock Skyline. The evening turned out to be the perfect excursion after a long day of sessions.
The general sessions continued on Thursday, September 27 with the Round Table Sessions for Attorneys, Board Members and Executive Directors. Ken Fairchild wrapped up the second day of sessions with his interactive presentation on how to conduct successful interviews with the media. On Thursday afternoon, the majority of the group toured the Clinton Presidential Library and some participants traveled a short distance to the Rebsamen Golf Course for a Golf Tournament. Later in the evening the group met at the Old State House Lawn for an evening that offered participants a true taste of the south. The group dined on fried cat fish while listening to the sounds of the Exit 88 band.
The sessions on Friday, September 28 included presentations from Heidi Lincer-Hill, Skip Sharrer, Calvin Fabre, Van Tilbury and Edward Maloney. On Friday evening participants joined each other for the closing banquet which brought the 2007 Mid Year Meeting to its conclusion. The evening proved to be a night to remember for all who attended!
Mid Year Meeting
The Mid Year Meeting was designed as a planning and project oriented two day session for NASCLA's Board of Directors. In 2008, the meeting format changed in order to provide NASCLA Committee's with the opportunity to work together to set goals for their respective committees. Business procedures and any upcoming projects for NASCLA and NPI are also discussed at the meeting. This meeting is held in the spring or early summer.
Annual Conference
The NASCLA Annual Conference is fast becoming a must attend event for all who are involved in the regulation of the construction industry. Each year the association's Program Committee and Staff members exceed expectations with quality programming and exceptional speakers in outstanding locations.
The conference is a great opportunity for NASCLA members to come together to discuss current issues relevant to the regulation of contractors. The conference also provides a forum for participants to interact and exchange information on licensing issues. The four day conference is held in the fall in the home state of the current president.
Committee Meetings
NASCLA has nine committees and meetings are held throughout the year in locations all around the country. Committees meet at least twice a year (at the Mid Year Meeting and Annual Conference) and periodically by teleconference.
